Susan D. Newton, M.A. CCC-A FAAA

Clinical Audiologist

Susan has been a clinical audiologist since 2001, when she did her fellowship year at Head & Neck Surgery of Kansas City. She holds undergraduate degrees in Linguistics and Speech-Language & Hearing from the University of Kansas, and earned her Master of Arts in Audiology from the University of Kansas in 2001.

Susan is licensed in Kansas and Missouri. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology

She has extensive clinical experience working in Ear, Nose, and Throat offices with patients of all ages, as well as experience in private practice Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. She has spent a majority of her career working with the doctors here at Head & Neck Surgery of Kansas City.

She loves to learn and keep up with the latest technology from the major hearing aid manufacturers, which is a fast-moving target! She has a philosophy that there is a solution for every patient, and it’s her job to help patients succeed in their hearing aid journey.  She has a special interest in working with Musicians to monitor and protect their hearing.

Susan grew up in Prairie Village and now lives in Mission with her family, two cats, and a lot of musical instruments. She enjoys painting, sewing, and, of course, playing music. You might even run into her around town with a fiddle, guitar, or bass in her hands.
