Hearing tests

The first step on the path to treatment is to establish a baseline of hearing acuity. Our comprehensive hearing exams assess your ability to hear tones, as well as word understanding.

The extent of hearing loss in day-to-day activities will be addressed when going through an evaluation. Important questions will be asked about the effects of hearing loss during family or work time. This combined with hearing tests gives the audiologist a full background of the patient needs. During the evaluation, an audiologist may make recommendations on hearing aid devices. There are two styles to choose from, with a few features being exclusive to certain brands.

Hearing aids and fittings

Where you get your hearing aid and what hearing aid you use matters. Once it has been determined that you would benefit from hearing aids, we will guide you through the process to find the right hearing aids for your needs.

It is important that you work with an audiologist who can deliver specialized care for your needs, condition, and lifestyle. An audiologist can recommend the best frequency response, style, sizing, and features for you. During a hearing aid fitting, we will also describe the right steps you can take to make sure your aids last as long as possible, including appropriate cleaning and maintenance you can do at home.

Hearing aid repair and maintenance

Our goal is to make sure you have quality hearing without feedback or other problems. The primary reason that patients stop wearing their hearing aid is that they feel they don’t get the full benefit of better hearing. We are here to help. Did you know that wearing a hearing aid can reduce the risk of dementia and reduce mortality risk in patients with hearing loss*?

If something happens to compromise the functionality of your hearing aids, we can assist you. For some services, we may prompt you to bring in your hearing aids to diagnose the problem. Based on the issue, we may perform hearing aid repair in house, and we may be able to perform basic fixes while you wait. In other cases, we will need to send your hearing aids to a manufacturer. In each case, we will make sure that your hearing aids remain durable for their expected life span.
